I’ll make this short, and then you can continue on and view the pictures. What can I say? Another “Oh What A Night” happening for me to experience. I just can’t get enough of these, and when I think there will be no more another opportunity presents itself. The main purpose of this evening was to raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Funds Aids, surely a very worthwhile purpose. But in all honesty I was there to see the Jersey Boys, both faux and real. I met up with old friends and finally put faces to names I had only known by way of the Internet. Everyone involved was as gracious and friendly as could be. The highlight of the evening for me was having Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Joe Long together in one setting. It did this old heart good. My father, as he got on in years once told me, actually many times, don’t get old sonny boy. I’m glad that for once I did not heed his advice, for if I did I wouldn’t have been around to witness this reunion. Oh yeah, as for those other Jersey boys, they were there, being their usual fan friendly, smiling selves. These guys are always quick to say hello, and to give you a big hug. The rest of the cast was there as well including Peter Gregus who looks well and is almost ready to return to the show. Peter is always good for a laugh or two and always ready with a smile. And a shout out to Rick Elice and Marshall Brickman, for without these two this event could never have happened. Thanks to George Juba and Danielle Gaudio-Lalehzar for providing some of the pictures. I’ve combined theirs with mine, I hope you enjoy them. Frank Rovello |
